RECREATIONAL GYMNASTICS

 

Junior Recreational Program:

Boys and Girls 5 - 7 years -

A program designed for children at school.  Classes involve a variety of fun and challenging activities which develop a wide range of physical attributes including strength, flexibility, balance and co-ordination.  Children work their way through an award program and can be involved in recreational competitions.  There is use of all the gymnastics equipment as well as supplementary equipment. 

 

Intermediate Recreational Program:

Boys and Girls 8 - 12 years -

A progressive step that follows on from the Junior Rec program.  This program further develops the children’s understanding of the techniques required to perform an increasing level of skills.  Children use all the gymnastics apparatus and have the opportunity to compete in recreational competitions.  Children also work their way through an award program.

 

Advanced Recreational Program :

Boys and Girls 8 - 12 years -

A more challenging class designed for those children who have already participated in the junior or intermediate rec program and are looking for a further challenge.  Children work their way through an award program and are given the opportunity to compete in recreational competitions. Children wishing to enter this program must be able to complete a skills test. 

 

Senior Recreational Program:

Male and Female 13 - 18 years -

A program for teenagers – young adults which caters for all ability levels from beginners through to an intermediate level.  Members will have the opportunity to learn and develop at their own pace and have use of all the gymnastics equipment.  Classes are structured and include fitness based warm ups, strength and flexibility work.

 

Ex-Competitive Program:

Male and Female 10 - 18 years -

A new program designed for those members who have prior gymnastics experience at a high level or have withdrawn from the Levels program but wish to maintain their skills, fitness and have fun!!.  This program involves a fitness based warm up, strength, flexibility and apparatus work.
